Lord
Carlton, world heavyweight wrestling champion of
1947, was one of the most
televised celebrity wrestlers of the golden age of
wrestling. A highly
theatrical showman donning his signature monocle and
cape, he was a fan
favorite, entertaining audiences all over the world,
from Madison Square Garden
to India and Egypt.
Considered a child prodigy, he attended the San
Francisco School of Fine Art at
the age of 10. He decided to become more absorbed in
sports, but never
abandoned his first love, art.
In his lifetime, Lord Carlton attained world fame as
an athlete, but never
pursued fame as an artist, instead opting to auction
off pieces on occasion for
charitable causes. For the very first time, his work
will be available to the
public in the form of limited edition lithographs
and glicees. In keeping with
his philanthropic efforts, a substantial percentage
of all proceeds will
benefit various charities.

The Carlton Collection is presented by his daughter,
